What's a visit with me like?

A home visit is typically around 90 minutes long, where we will discuss your feeding concerns, observe your baby feed, weigh your baby and make changes together to get feeding off to a great start. I typically include 2 weeks (more or less) of call/text/email support.

Describe your philosophy towards breastfeeding and feeding.
I have been working in nutrition and maternal and child health for almost a decade. I have worked with many women with a wide variety of feeding concerns including low milk supply, latch issues, breastfeeding after breast surgery, oral anomalies such as tongue ties, premature babies transitioning back to breast and more! I pride myself on offering a laid back approach to counseling, offering mothers practical advice for breastfeeding and parenting success.

What is your favorite part of working with new parents and infants?
My favorite part of working with new parents is leaving them feeling empowered to create their own feeding plan that works best for their family. Being a new parent is stressful for so many reasons, so being able to ease their mind is very rewarding.

Describe any particular areas of expertise related to feeding
Infant and toddler nutrition, specialized infant formulas, allergies

    Testimonials

“I reached out to Melanie after the birth of the 3rd child, I thought I knew what I was doing but was struggling with some new challenges with my new baby. Melanie’s calm and reassuring demeanor put me at ease and allowed me to focus on this breastfeeding journey individually from my others and for us off to a great start. Her follow up and willingness to answer all my silly questions has been so helpful!”K & Baby M
