    Introduce yourself!
Hi! I’m Heather the doula. I have a deep passion for helping families navigate the postpartum world. Babies are wonderful, but they are a lot of work! (And often lead to a lack of sleep). I’m here to help you enjoy parenthood more by being an extra set of hands, ears, and eyes. Outside of work, I like to hang out with my two sons, my boyfriend, and his two sons! There’s a lot of activity with 4 boys under 10 around. I also have a passion for watching terrible television, and listening to good audiobooks while I clean.

How do you help new parents?
It never stops being an honor to me to be invited into such a special and sacred time in families’s lives. I am there to comfort, coach, compliment, commiserate, and cheer parents along their journey. I am happy to help with cooking, cleaning, and setting systems into place to make the postpartum period as successful as possible!

Why did you pursue this career?
The births and the postpartum periods for my two children made me passionate about birth work. Having a hospital birth for my first, a miscarriage, and then a home birth for my second gave me varied experiences of my own to draw upon. My postpartum period was very hard on me, and I didn’t know that postpartum doulas existed! As a began my training as a birth doula, I learned more about postpartum doulas and knew instantly how much of my struggle would have been eliminated had I had a doula. I became a postpartum doula so I can be for others what I wished I had had.
